Class Skills

In Elder Scrolls Online there are 5 Classes – DRAGONKNIGHT, NIGHTBLADE, SORCERER, TEMPLAR and WARDEN. Class Skills are very important in ESO and will have a large impact on your character – especially in the early levels. Class Skills provide every character with 3 Skill Lines which have 6 Active and 4 Passive skills each. In total Class Skills provide characters with 18 Active Abilities and 12 Passive Skills.

Class Skills Info

  • Class Skills cost Magicka to cast and will use Spell Critical.
  • Class Skills increase in damage and healing based on your Max Magicka and Spell Damage.
  • Some Class Skills offer a Stamina morph option which allows you to transform the ability to use Stamina, Weapon Damage and Weapon Critical.

You can use the filter boxes to narrow down your search. You can use the “Stamina Morph” box to see which skills have a morph which changes that skill to use Stamina, Weapon Damage and Weapon Critical.

The search box is very useful, for example you can type “Major Defile” and the table will filter for all Class Skills which grant Major Defile.

    Which is better, Hardened Armor or Volatile Armor?

      I often like to use Hardened Armor for the damage shield as the main use of that skill for me is damage mitigation. Volatile Armor is good, but the damage is not much and is mostly useful for solo and quest situations.

    hmm so the gap closer for templar(focused charge) doesnt have a stamina morph…why wouldnt the melee side have a gap closer? why would a mana caster even WANT a gap closer. i dont even understand…

      I use it sometimes when I charge in Toppling Charge and use things like Puncturing Sweep which is also using Magicka.

      I would like a Stamina morph as well, however, as it would go great with Dual Wield and such.

    I can’t help but notice some of the skills dont list their durations outside of secondary effects. I sure would like that to be addressed since I use this site frequently to get better ideas for builds.

      The damage and healing numbers are from a blank VR14 character with no skills, no gear and no attributes or anything. I was going to put a question mark or an X but I thought it would be good to see the relative difference in power between abilities.

    Just wanted to say great job, and this entire site has become extremely handy to me! I use it for tons of stuff! One thing I was wondering is with the damage/costs etc. Are you using the numbers on Rank I of the skills? Or highest Rank?

      Thanks! I used Rank 1 on a blank character (from the PTS) a couple of months ago but I’ve since gone through and updated them based on the Patch Notes like the 10% increase to Mage’s Fury damage and things like that. 🙂

    On Lightning Splash, it’s no longer “94% more damage”, but “increases length of time from 6 to 10 seconds”.

      That is already there, press the Has Stamina Morph check box above the table. This will display all of the Skills which have a Stamina Morph. All others just use Magicka.

        He might be talking about Thundering Presence (Sorcerer, Lightning Form morph). The description indicates it is a Stamina morph, but it doesn’t show up when I tick the check box.

    The speed buff of the Boundless Storm morph is totally nonfunctional and has been since Beta. It does not work, never has and never will. It does nothing at all.

    I think the description for the Shadow passive (nightblade) is out of date. Current buff is 5280, not 8000.

    I realize that you said its up to date for DB…

    Under the nightblade Assassination ability “Ambush”, the cost says 3654 Magicka. Most people know that it costs stamina. My real concern is, is the base cost of Ambush 3654 Stamina, or does it cost higher than that, or less than that?

    Greetings. I am sorry but i have spent a lot of time to find any site where explains how works Venomous Claw damage increasing effect. Either increases Venomous Claw DOT’s damage or increases my (or all?) damage done while DOT is active on the target?

    I would love to see a ranged stamina / back up heals build for a warden. I’ve beven running ranged stam and mag heals since I created my warden. I really love it. It also fits the description of what a warden should do. Defender of nature.
