7 Things From Update 13

  7 Comments   February 3, 2017

In case you missed it, which would be understandable given the excitement for the Morrowind expansion, here are 7 small things coming with Update 13 in a few days.

New Skill Orders

In Update 13 ZOS has subtly changed the ordering form some Skill Lines. This just means you’ll unlock the skills in a different order.

Nightblade Shadow Line

  • Veiled Strike
  • Shadow Cloak
  • Path of Darkness
  • Aspect of Terror
  • Summon Shade

Sorcerer Daedric Summoning Line

  • Summon Unstable Familiar
  • Daedric Curse
  • Summon Winged Twilight
  • Conjured Ward
  • Bound Armor

Two Handed Weapon Line

  • Uppercut
  • Critical Charge
  • Cleave
  • Reverse Slash
  • Momentum

Dual Wield Weapon Line

  • Flurry
  • Twin Slashes
  • Whirlwind
  • Blade Cloak
  • Hidden Blade

Bow Weapon Line

  • Snipe
  • Volley
  • Magnum Shot
  • Arrow Spray
  • Poison Arrow

Destruction Staff Weapon Line

  • Force Shock
  • Wall of Elements
  • Destructive Touch
  • Weakness to Elements
  • Impulse

Unchained

The Unchained passive from the Champion System underwent a subtle, but major change.

“This ability now reduces the cost of a single Stamina ability by 80% for 5 seconds instead of reducing the cost of all Stamina abilities used within 3 seconds by 80%.”

Life Steal and Magicka Steal

There is a new set of debuffs which have been added to some select abilities.

“Created a new debuff category, Minor Magicka Steal. This is a debuff applied to enemies that restores a flat value of Magicka to the attacker every second. It restores 400 Magicka every second at CP160.”

“Minor Life Steal: This category is now a debuff applied to enemies instead of a buff applied to allies. It now restores a flat value of Health to the attacker every second. It restores 600 Health every second at CP160.”

Item Set Procs

Ok so you may have heard about this one. Any item set which has a proc chance to deal damage or healing cannot critically strike any more.

“Item Set procs which deal damage or healing can no longer Critically Strike.”

So this effects those sets which say something like “has a 30% chance to deal X Magic Damage” and so on.

Dungeon Check

ZOS have updated the way the Dungeon Finder forms groups. When your dungeon group is ready, you will no longer immediately be put into a group. Instead, all 4 members of the group will have to verify that they are ready for the dungeon. This is to help reduce the number of AFK people in the queue, messing up the Dungeon Finder.

Champion Point Increase

The Champion Point cap has been raised by 39 points (13 in each red/blue/green constellation) for a current total maximum of 600 Champion Points. The Champion Point experience curve has been automatically adjusted with this new cap so earlier Champion Points require less experience and can be earned faster.

AoE Damage Changes

Adjusted the Area of Effect damage thresholds for all abilities. The new thresholds are as follows.

  • Targets 1 – 6
Targets take 100% damage taken with all secondary effects applied.
  • Targets 7 – 24
Targets take 75% damage taken with no secondary effects applied (formerly 50% damage taken).
  • Targets 25 – 60
Targets take 50% damage taken with no secondary effects applied (formerly 25% damage taken).

With the AoE change, is the secondary effects new or been in the game mechanics the whole time? And what exactly do they mean by secondary effects?

yes secondary has always been there… but they’re about to screw up any build built around aoe damage especially ones requiring set procs (Vicious Death) for massive amounts of damage… they’re breaking the game for people to survive longer 🙁

      it’s a sad day…

I for one am happy about the AoE and proc set changes. Hopefully we will get a wider range of BiS to work with and less AoE mechanic abuse.

So with the skill trees changing order would we still get to keep our skills even if we don’t have the required level? Mainly referencing the bow line where 1 and 5 flip-flop. My new NB doesn’t have 42 in bow yet, but has poison injection unlocked.

You will keep the XP in the skills but if you don’t have a high enough level to unlock the skill (because it changed order) you won’t be able to use it.

Your 2 skill points (skill and morph) will be refunded if you dont meet the requirements.
