Gear and Item Set Info
“Those who deny freedomto others deserve it not for themselves.”
This build is meant to be fluid and infinitely capable of self sustaining tanking and group healing regardless of the gear set you use. It is your choice to use whichever set pieces you wish, as long as the importance of heavy armor and health regen/max health buff enchantments are remembered. This focus in health enchantments is to allow for the focus of attribute points into Magicka and Stamina.
Besides... A true Imperial can make do with what he has on hand...
General Info
The most important thing to remember is that you are not reliant on the survival of healers or DPS in PvE, and only reliant on DPS in PvP. My entire group has dropped during multiple dungeons and I have been able to recover completely, rezzing the team and stomping the boss without breaking a sweat. While optional, I do support the use of Vampirism with this build for the amazing passives to stop you from kicking the bucket at low health.
As a Tank:
- Before opening a fight, activate Unstoppable and Defensive Rune. In group play, Defensive Rune becomes less useful, so don't focus too much on keeping that up onless you are alone. Unstoppable is needed for maximum effectiveness.
- Shielded Assault into a fight for the aggro and the added protection.
- Ransack ransack ransack. If you do not have 4+ enemies on you at once, then you are FAILING as a tank.
- If your health drops below 60%, swap to your Resto Staff and drop an Illustrious Healing at your feet, followed by a Ward Ally cast for the protection. If you aren't healed to 80% at this point, cast Dark Conversion to regain health and Magicka.
- Kite your foes around the room to help keep them off of the DPS and Healer. This is especially advantageous against the Centurion at the end of Darkshade Caverns, as you almost never have to wipe out the healing spiders if you kite well enough.
- Use your Suppression Field when there are many small trash monsters, or swap over to your Resto Staff's Sturdy Horn to provide your group aid.
- Due to the nature of this build, it is only our fault if you die.
As a Healer
- When acting as the healer, keep on your Resto Staff bar to provide support to your team. Make sure they know to stay inside of AOE range.
- It is okay if you drain ALL of your Stamina on self heals and for the extra magicka for healing spell casts. That's why it's there.
- If your tank is getting too low due to either his incompetency or your bad healing, swap over to your Sword and Board bar and ransack ransack ransack! Take over tanking for a minute while everyone else recovers.
- Use your Suppression Field when there are many small trash monsters, or swap over to your Resto Staff's Sturdy Horn to provide your group aid.
In PvP
- Spend most of your time on your Resto Staff bar, so you can support your allies and provide ranged damage.
- When initiating fights, start with Unstoppable and Defensive Rune. Follow up with Shielded Assault and Ransack/Heroic Sweep (In PvP I suggest replacing Ransack with Heroic Sweep, the morph of Low Sweep).
- When stealth Nightblades are nearby, activate Unstoppable and Defensive Rune to surprise the Oblivion out of them! It'll save you from nasty stealth attack stuns AND trap them so you can start sapping them of useful Phys and Spell Resistance.
Champion Point Tips
Focus on Phys and Spell Resistance, Block Quality, Healing Done, and Max Health.
Question, did you put health gylphs in the armor or were they magicka ones? Need some clarification so I know what crafted set to pair with what monster set to maximize this build’s efficiency.
Good question! I focused primarily on health glyphs. That allows to focus on making up for the complete lack of points being put into health.
Okay, what set(s) do you use just so I have an idea of what to pick out? Also, if you use them, what jewelry sets do you use?
I don’t really keep track of my gear sets, and am rather happy that I’ve made a build that functions outside of the meta that is gear. If I had to suggest, I’d go with the Chokethorn Monster Mask set from Elden Hollow I to supplement ‘meh’ healing, and the Death’s Wind five piece for the extra time to swap and heal when low on health in PvP and PvE. And for Jewelry set, go Endurance.
Termorscale Monster Mask set is good for tanking, as well.
could you list your stats from your charter sheet so i can make sure I’m some what close to where they should be for resource management and sustain
What mundus stones are you using? i’m building this
