Mounts In ESO

Mounts In ESO

In The Elder Scrolls Online you can use mounts to increase the speed at which you can travel around Tamriel and also to increase your carrying capacity. They also look cool. There are a number of different types of mounts available from common horses to guar and even some senche tigers!

You can access your mounts through the Collections UI and mounts are account-wide, so you will have access to all of your mounts on all of your characters. Once a mount is active press ‘H’ to ride / get off your mount. On XBox One hold down the select button and on PS4 hold the touchpad in the middle.

Riding Skills

There are 3 riding skills that a character can learn to increase the speed, stamina and carrying capacity of mounts that you use. The riding skills can be found in your character screen below your character stats. To level your riding skills simply visit the stables in any major city and pay 250 gold to the stable master to increase either speed, stamina or carrying capacity.

All of the riding skills can be upgraded 60 times so that you can get a 60% increase in all 3 skills.

You can only learn 1 skill every 20 hours – so visiting the stables is a daily activity.

Your riding skills are character specific, while the actual mounts themselves are account wide.

You can use any mount on any of your characters but the speed, stamina and carrying capacity will be different on each of your characters.

You can now also purchase Riding Lessons from the Crown Store that will let you upgrade your Riding Skills faster than at the stables.

Speed

Speed increases the movement speed of your active mount, up to a total 60% above normal speed. Speed is handy for travelling the world – especially in Cyrodiil where there are vast distances! You might notice when you first arrive in Cyrodiil that a lot of players have fast mounts in order to travel from keep to keep.

Stamina

Stamina increases your active mounts’s stamina pool. Your mount uses stamina to sprint and is not related to your character’s stamina pool. Your mount uses stamina to keep your mounted when you get attacked. If your mount is out of stamina then you will be knocked from your mount as soon as an attack is made. If your mount has some stamina left then you can remain mounted and take more damage before being knocked off. Getting knocked off your mount is dangerous – especially in Cyrodiil – as this will stun you for about 3 seconds.

Carrying Capacity

Carrying capacity increases the size of your inventory, up to a total of 60 slots, if you have a mount active. This is really handy, especially for collecting all of those crafting materials!

Horses In ESO

Mounts

There are different types of mounts available in ESO – horses, guar and even senche.

There is no difference between each of the mounts (apart from looks) as riding stats are now based on individual character’s riding skills rather than the mounts themselves.

Horses

Horses were the first mount in Elder Scrolls Online and can be purchased from the stables in any major city. There are 4 types of horses available from the stables. If you purchase the Imperial Edition you will have access to the Imperial Horse in your Collections UI. If you purchase a horse from the stables it will become account wide in your Collections UI so any of your characters can use it.

Horses will always be able to sprint, even when they are out of stamina – it is a perk that only horses have. If you are out of stamina, however, you will be knocked off your horse as soon as you take any damage and this will cause you to be stunned for about 3 seconds.

Note: While the prices of the horses vary, the stats do not. Stats are tied to the character riding them – so the only difference between mounts is looks!

At the moment they have taken off the Senche mounts from the Crown Store as they were for a limited time. I think they will be added another Senche mount soon, however, as they were quite popular! 🙂

Pretty sure that this website isn’t in charge of the Crown Store, only reports on it. So sadly you are asking the wrong people to put it back on the store.

I co;n7l&#821dut agree with you more. The likely hood that I would manually remove the cache in production is minimal at best. However, a manual rm runs quicker on my local dev environment. So if I am clearing the cache often during development, I sometimes choose this option.

Well first you have to buy it in the Crown Store, then you go to Collections, Mounts, then activate the Mount.

Why would you ever play an Xbox One when PS4 was proven better in every way? Better yet, why play console at all when 500 dollars can custom build a computer that would stomp all consoles?

They are per character, so you can get multiple mounts and have the same Riding Skills.

Why would they remove the stats from the horses yet not make the price of all horses the same if they are completely the same in terms of statistic capabilities?
One would think that the same price for all mounts would probably eliminate the confusion brought on through the description of each mount that implies each has a specific trait that stands out when compared to the others.

Yeah I am not sure why they have kept the prices the same from the time when the different mounts actually had extra stats. Maybe for the looks? I agree though, the different prices and descriptions are confusing when they give no extra stats.

Actually, the basic mount used to be 17,200g before they added mounts to our collections. And just like any other mount that has extra visual features, even if there’s no extra benefits anymore, the more elaborate mount costs more.

In general, horses cost the least, with more elaborate versions going for more. Also, the Nightmare Courser was never 900 crowns. It has always been 2500 crowns.

At least now they have basic versions of the Senche and Bear mounts permanently on the Crown Store for 1800 crowns each, for those who missed any limited release and want those particular models.

The different pricing is due to the fact that they have us by the nards! They know we’re all spoiled little bitches with no self control! I got the palomino free and I STILL had to buy the guar! In my defence though… Argonians look better on a guar, and my Argonian’s gotta look fly before he goes out on the town!

If they allow attacking on a mount then they should have it that mounts can die (thus raising another delemia of mounts attacking). Now if they do die, it would be cool to have a 5 day recuperating penalty for letting your mount die but thus with the mount disappearing each time you mount and unmount, gives the horse a magical appearance? Or is that the unicorn blood they have? Next the players are going to want flying and turn it into some hokey MMO.

I would love for ESO to get more into the mounts. Flying mounts, water mounts. Just for ESO to get more creative with the mounts we can use.

So, how much does a baseline mount increase movement speed? Since “Major Expedition” buff gives 40% move speed and sprinting on top of that seems to outrun most mounts.

I think there should be racial mounts implemented into the game. To give people the ability to tell what race people are based upon what kind of mount that they ride. I say this because due to armour Motifs it’s difficult to tell on style alone. The mounts would work so that specific races could buy their mount with in-game currency, but if they wanted another races mount then they would have to invest into Crown Points. This could raise a lot of revenue if done correctly. The mounts would be as follows.

    Imperial – Imperial Horse.
Nord – Bear (Colours Could Vary).
Orc – Something bestial like wild bore.
    Redguard – Dunripper.
    Breton – Lion (With Main).
    D. Elf – Kwama.
    W. Elf – Deer.
    H. Elf – White Elk.
    Khajit – Senche (Tiger, Panther)
    Argonian – Wamasu.

Also, There would be the Alliance mounts taken from the head races of each Alliance (Breton, Nord, High Elf). Anyone else but me think this would he awesome?

Hey I started playing this game I bought a Senche Lioness an a Dragontailed Goat, first question does the goat grow an get bigger an fight for you cause in the description it says it can hit as hard as a Dragontailed Ram? An my other question is if I bought the Senche Lioness on one my character will I have that mount when I make a new character? I hope you can cause if not your just trying to make more money off me an it would be ridiculous if you couldn’t.

The mount is across all characters.

The pet (Dragontailed Goat) is probably a vanity pet and wont fight for you. The Crown Store doesn’t sell anything that will give a player an advantage that they cannot earn through playing the game.

When the Thieves Guild dlc goes live in the next week there’s supposed to be a limited-release Dro-m’athra Senche in the Crown Store. I really liked the look of this on the PTS, so I’m definitely getting it. It has the basic model of the Black Panther Senche, but with blue light oozing out of it in places and leaves a trail of “dro-m’athra essence” when it runs. It’s also the first mount that rises up out of the ground when summoned instead of just appearing.

In short, it looks pretty sweet, so if you want a limited-edition mount, make sure you get it while it’s available. They’ve stated repeatedly that they won’t re-release the same mounts in order to give players a chance to have “exclusive” mounts. They made one exception to this when they re-released the Black Panther Senche and the Spotted Leopard Senche, which they explained was to give console players a chance at them, since they were released before the game was available on consoles.

All mounts have the same stats, from the stables or the crown store, they’re all the same…..UNTIL you pay for training.

Horses do have the added benefit to be able to sprint when they are out of stamina.

Training is 250gold for each session. You can either add to training speed, stamina, or capacity. In addition to that, you can buy training scrolls from the crown store to do more than one training point in a day.

Mounts are unlocked for each of your toons, BUT each toon must train their own mount; so basically it’s like you’re starting over.

You can also hide the visual upgrades that your mount gets when you train them by looking in your settings. This will remove saddlebags, harnesses, and any other visual add-ons that came from training.
