General Info

I wanted to build a tank that wasn't boring. Since I was a Templar magtank was the route I wanted go.

The pic above gives you most of the relevant info on the build. I use a tri-stat food to buff all resource pools. As for potions I use the standard magicka pots most of the time. Switching to crafted Essence of Health tri-stat pots for more intense content.

Front bar - Sword/Shield

Back bar - Frost staff "Blockade of Frost wasn't on the skills listed, but it's your first skill"

Stage 4 Vamp 100% of the time. But I reccomend not going vamp until you are about 300CP+ so you can make up the fire weakness a bit better. At 796CP the build feels OP in most content. lol

As for play style it's a tank so not much changes. Just try and keep your DoTs and HoTs up like with any class. You can dial your damage rotation up or down depending on how difficult a boss is. Throwing in heavy attacks with the frost staff after rotations will keep taunt up without resources and keep your magicka up.I only use Inner Rage taunt for intial pull or when I need an instant taunt. Make sure to keep your spear shards coming and the dps will love you.

For normal or non-dlc vet content I swap out Structured Entropy on the back bar for Mage light. I also switch out for the Valkyn Skoria monster set for normal content. Thurvokun's is pretty nice too, but a bit harder for some to get. I like it for non-dlc vet pledges. ^^

This build is very strong once you get used to it. Full resists in Channeled Focus with 3-4k self healing per second at very low resource cost. Make sure to keep Ritual+Entropy+Purifying up. Bogdans is really just a bonus to make the build even more OP. You can meter your dps between 5-10k depending on how demanding the fight is. With Skoria monster set it's fairly easy to keep 9-11k dps. Not that it matters, you're a tank. :p

Ok so I didn't mention War Horn, Barrier or Ebon. How can I really call myself a tank!? Well every guide out there gives you the run down of the main stays to organized tanking for vet trials. For this build if/when you want to run Ebon just swap it out for the Warrior-poet pieces. And swap your monster set for a Lord Warden shoulder and Domihaus head. It'll balance out the resist you loose and give you a little extra stam/mag.

As always play with things and see what suits you!

If you can’t read the stats in the build pic right-click and save it. On my browser you can’t read the smaller text in the pic.
