Gear and Item Set Info
This is a combination of one dungeon set, one overworld set, and one monster set. There is a lot of flexibility in this build if you want to swap to a primary stamina build you can. However, the Blazing Shield and Ritual of Retribution are pretty expensive to keep up.
Dungeon Set: Ebon Armory (5 pieces)
Two rings (with Magicka Recovery), Legs (Infused with Prismatic Defense), Boots (Divines with health), Gauntlets (divines with health)
Overworld Set: Either Plague Doctors or Warrior Poet
- Sword with a Damage Shield enchant
- Shield with infused or sturdy with a health glyph.
- Chest Reinforced (Prismatic Defense)
- Belt (Divines or Sturdy) - Health glyph
- Necklace with Magicka recovery.
Monster Set: Infernal Guardians helm and shoulder. The helm should be infused but the shoulder could be divine or sturdy. In fact any divines you can swap for sturdy for block cost reduction if you wish.
General Info
The purpose of this build is to be a defensive tank build that punishes enemies for attacking you or your allies. By combining "Time Freeze" and Ritual of Retribution we are able to momentarily c.c. and apply a dot on enemies. Both of these are very magic intensive so should be used wisely. The bread and butter of the build are the Blazing Shield and Infernal Guardians. Both allow us to do a decent amount of damage for just tanking in general.
As a tank, we want to keep the damage we take to a minimum because it allows the healer to focus on keeping the DPS alive which improves damage output. Also, we want to provide useful buffs and debuffs for the team. Ebon Armory provides our team with a little extra health. Our ritual will help with heals and purging of harmful effects. Also because of our sacred light passive, we are able to slow enemies that enter our ritual. Furthermore, our elemental blockade will, depending on staff, either further c.c. or off-balance enemies. Improving DPS opportunities.
The reason for the damage shield enchant on our sword is simple. Now pierced armor, deep slash, light attacks, and heavy attacks all become damage shield abilities if the enchant procs! Infernal guardian has a 50% chance to proc on the activation of a damage shield ability. This is at lower damage 16500 damage done passively for using abilities we are already using. This boost in damage can occur every six seconds after completion.
The crusher enchants, before I forget, is on our destro staff on the back bar. Thus even while on our front bar our blockade will keep that up for us.
If you wish to use Radiant Ward because of the bigger shield and cheaper cost you can. You will lose out on some damage but it is ok. Same with swapping Ritual of Retribution for Extended Ritual.
This is still a build in development but dang is it fun!
