Cyrodiil PVP Changes In March

  No Comments   April 3, 2015

In March, 2015, a couple of tweaks were made to Cyrodiil and PVP.

Siege Weapon Damage Increase

The damage dealt to players by siege weapons, such as ballistae and trebuchets, has been dramatically increased. The new damage for all of the siege weapons can be found in the table below. A lot of players have found that siege weapons are far more valuable in fights now with Fire Ballistae and Fire Trebuchets dealing massive damage to grouped players. In Cyrodiil it has become more important to keep an eye out for siege and quickly run, roll or jump out of the way of incoming projectiles. The siege weapon damage to walls remains largely the same.

ESO SIEGE EQUIPMENT

Type Name Image Damage Description
TREBUCHET Stone Trebuchet Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 17,040
Damage To Walls: 4000
Very good for attacking walls. This siege weapon has the best range and the most damage to walls however it also takes a long time to reload.
TREBUCHET Fire Trebuchet Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 12,780 + Fire Damage Over Time
Damage to Walls: 3500
Good for attacking walls altough not as much damage to walls as a Stone Trebuchet. Very good damage to players however a long reload time.
TREBUCHET Ice Trebuchet Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 10,650 + Reduces Movement Speed
Damage to Walls: 3000
Ok for attacking walls but not as much damage compared to the other Trebuchets. Good damage to players and also reduces movement speed.
BALLISTAE Ballista Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 6390
Damage To Walls: 2000
Good damage to walls which is not as high as a Trebuchet but makes up for that with faster reloading. This is probably the best weapon to use to take down a wall.
BALLISTAE Fire Ballista Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 8520 + Fire Damage Over Time
Damage To Walls: 1000
Good damage to players with a damage over time componant. Not as good as the normal Ballista for damaging walls.
BALLISTAE Lightning Ballista Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 6390 + Damage Over Time
Damage To Walls: 1000
Good damage to players with a damage over time componant. Not as good as the normal Ballista for damaging walls.
CATAPULT Stone Catapult Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 4260
Damage To Walls: 500
Low range and low damage however the area hit with this siege weapon is very large.
CATAPULT Meat Bag Catapult Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 4260 + Healing Received Reduced
Damage To Walls: 500
Low range and low damage however this siege weapon reduces enemies healing received by 50% which works really well with other damaging siege weapons like Fire Ballistae and Fire Trebuchets.
CATAPULT Oil Catapult Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 4260 + Reduces Movement Speed
Damage To Walls: 500
Low ranage and low damage but great at reducing enemy movement speed. The movement speed reduction cannot be removed from enemies and this works great with other damaging siege weapons or controlling a breach in the wall.
BATTERING RAM Battering Ram Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: None
Damage To Walls: None
The Ram can be useful for taking down a door but will not work for walls. This is only useful when your Alliance has enough players to kill the guards near the front door.
FLAMING OIL Flaming Oil Cyrodiil PVP ESO Damage To Players: 9000 Damage Over Time
Damage To Walls: None
Great for defending a keep, outpost or wall as this deals a good amount of damage over time to a large area. The oil must fall before it is armed so you must place it on a wall and pour it on enemmies. This works best when many Flaming Oil pots are set up to damage the same area and can repel large forces.

NPC / Battle Level Change

The NPCs in Cyrodiil, such as keep guards and wild bandits, have been changes to Veteran Level 12. The actual stats and damage of the NPCs have been kept at roughly Veteran Rank 5 levels. The change to VR 12 is simply to increase the amount of XP that players receive when they kill an NPC in Cyrodiil. This is a part of the change to all XP gain in Cyrodiil as noted below.

The stats of a “Battle Level” character is now roughly that of a Veteran Rank 12 player. This means that non-Vet players now have slightly better stats when in Cyrodiil.

XP Increases

The XP awarded when killing an enemy player has been increased by 50% and the XP awarded for some quests in Cyrodiil has been increased too! This is part of a plan to increase the value of fighting in the Alliance War in Cyrodiil.

20% Alliance Point Gain Buff

A new change in Patch 2.0.3 allows players to gain a 20% increase to all Alliance Point gains for 1 hour after contributing to the killing of a Cyrodiil Delve boss. Delves are the small and publicly available dungeons dotted around Cyrodiil which each have a boss to defeat at the end. Helping to slay one of these bosses gives you the 1 hour increase to Alliance Point gain. The effect will display in your Character Screen under Active Effects even when outside of Cyrodiil however the buff will only apply inside Cyrodiil when you gain AP. Players have reported in increase in activity surrounding Delves looking to gain this buff or attack enemies trying to do the same.

New Siege Weapons

Some new Coldharbor themed siege weapons are available! These weapons will deal more damage compared to conventional weapons and will only drop after defeating a Dolmen (Dark Anchor) in Cyrodiil.
