Item Sets In ESO

Up To Date As Of June 2018 – Summerset

 

In Elder Scrolls Online there are a number of item sets which grant bonuses based on the amount of items equipped of the same set.

It is better to wear an item set compared to simply wearing normal equipment – the bonuses are great!

Set Types

There are a lot of different item sets in ESO including crafted sets, sets dropped by mobs, sets purchased with Alliance Points, sets purchased in the Imperial City for Tel Var Stones and some sets which are given as rewards for participating in PVP.

With Update 12 sets are standardised and now come in all levels up to CP 160.

 

Crafted Sets

These sets are crafted at specific special crafting stations by players. In order to craft these items sets your character must have a certain number of Traits researched on that particular item slot. Any of the Traits will work, all that matters is the number of traits that you have researched. So, for example, if I wanted to make a heavy armor helmet from the Hunding’s Rage set, I would need to have researched at least 6 Traits for heavy armor helmets. The number of Traits that each crafted set requires varies depending on the specific item set and you can find these in the table below.

The level of the crafted set items that you create will determine the values of the set bonuses.

To craft a set you will need to go out into the wilds of Tamriel and find the appropriate set crafting station that matches the item set that you wish to create. There are three crafting stations in each regular zone and further stations located in Coldharbor, Craglorn, Imperial City, Orsinium, Hew’s Bane and the Gold Coast.

World (Zone) Sets

These sets, also called overland sets, drop from mobs in a specific zone. A zone normally has three sets found in it, one light armor set, one medium armor set and one heavy armor set. Any mob in that zone has a chance to drop any item from those sets in green, blue and purple quality. The chances of getting a blue and purple quality item increase as you level up.

All of these world sets are bind-on-equip and can be sold to other players.

Delve Bosses have a good chance of dropping a waist or feet slot item.

World Bosses have a 100% chance to drop a head, chest, legs or weapon slot item.

Public Dungeon Bosses have a high chance of dropping a shoulder, hand or weapon slot item.

Many of these Bosses have a small chance to drop a uniquely-named item, instead of the expected set piece. This uniquely-named item is also a part of one of the sets of the zone they are located in, but may not adhere to the dropped slot guidelines above.

Group Dungeon Sets

A Group Dungeon has three sets which drop from mobs inside. These set items are bind-on-pickup and can’t be sold to other players. You can, however, trade these items with your group members while you remain in the Group Dungeon.

All Group Dungeon Bosses will drop a set item when killed.

Mini Bosses drop hand, waist or feet slots.

Bosses drop head, chest, shoulder or leg slot items.

The final Boss of the Group Dungeon will drop weapons and jewelry.

Normal Mode Dungeons drop blue quality items.

Veteran Mode Dungeons drop purple quality items.

Arena Sets

These sets only drop in the two arenas in ESO – The Dragonstar Arena or the Maelstrom Arena.

Normal Mode drops blue quality items.

Veteran Mode drops purple quality items.

Monster Masks

Monsters Masks and Shoulders are obtained through Veteran Mode Group Dungeons and Undaunted Pledges. These sets are made up of two items only, one head piece and one shoulder piece.

Monster Masks (Head Slot) always drop from the final boss in a Veteran Mode Group Dungeon.

Monster Shoulders (Shoulder Slot) are only obtained through the Undaunted Pledge Chests. You can earn keys to these chests by completing daily Undaunted Pledges. You will always receive a Monster Shoulder with each chest.

Trials Sets

These sets are only obtained as drops in Trials.

Normal Mode drops blue quality items.

Veteran Mode drops purple quality items.

The final boss on Veteran Mode will drop gold quality jewelry.

PVP Sets

These sets are obtained through PVP, either in Cyrodiil or the Imperial City.

The Cyrodiil sets are either obtained through Rewards for the Worthy mails or can be purchased by gear vendors in Cyrodiil.

The Imperial City sets are obtained through Tel Var Stones in the Imperial City.

      No problem! It took a while to gather all this together. The Crafted Sets were fine as we simply went to all of the Crafting Stations. The Dropped Sets were much more difficult.

    I can’t find the level range on any of the dropped sets. Is that the case, or is it just me that don’t know where to look? 😛 It would be great if that is something that existed, because some of the sites I’ve been to they refer to sets as VR12 max level, when they actually exists in VR14, an example is the Hawks Eye set. Would really appreciate it if that existed. 😀

    I was searching guild traders for gear (for Necromancer set) and I was surprised when I have found SHOES OF THE NECROMACER… I have never seen anywhere that these shoes exist, so you could add it here. I don´t see any option here to add a picture as a proof. The Shoes of the Necromancer that I´ve bought are Purple Rank 12, 556 Armor, 28 Value, adds 278 Maximum Magicka, 17% Infused, and Rank 12 Necromancer set stats…

        Sometimes there can be found very good things in guild stores… Actually, I´ve also found Sash of the Necromancer (Purple VR12) in guild stores… Therefore it is 7 piece set, and people can now have 5 piece Necromancer bonus plus 2 piece Monster Helmet bonus.

    Hey, is the damage for the Nerien’eth set updated for the new damage value? I don’t have a current version of the set to compare it against and all of the Google images are pre-1.6 so they have the ~10% value.

      Yeah, it is now. The previous damage was 4040 but with the patch increasing the damage by 175% this went to 7080 damage. The actual damage will vary based on your stats and level, etc.

          Thank you. With the increased proc chance and enough DOTs there is a very realistic chance to proc twice within 3 seconds. If there is no proc restrictions at all, this could be insane for pve group dungeons/trials…

    So noob question, do set bonuses stack?

    Like say that I have 3 pieces of a set and the bonus for having 3 pieces is add 100 Health…

    Do I only get 100 additional Health in total for set bonus? Or do I get a total of 300 due to 3 individual set pieces?

      No, they don’t stack like that. So you will only get one bonus – or 100 Health in your example. Then if the next bonus was 100 Magicka you would get that with more items of the set equipped but only once. 🙂

      I think that while the monsters will go up to VR16 the set drops will remain at VR14. The Undaunted Chests will grant VR16 Monster Helms though.

    However can I suggest that you somehow enable users to filter stats on all sets, not just the crafted ones. This would be very useful for theorycrafting as, for example, it allows me to list all sets that provide Weapon Dmg.

    Some sets ‘add 4% healing taken’, can this value stack from multiple sets? For example, would 3 pieces of Shalidor’s Curse, and 4 pieces from Vampire’s Kiss give 8% additional healing taken? Thank you!

    The bonuses for the Oblivion’s Foe set have changed once again.

    At five traits, Oblivion’s Foe now gives you a 100% boost to the damage done by your soul-stealing abilities. Would be good for someone who fancied him/herself a necromancer.

    I noticed an error, I know for a fact, that, at least for my dunmer nightblade vampire, dark stalker stacks with the night’s silence set.

    I sneak (slightly) faster than a horse’s normal galloping speed when I combine double take with a night’s silence set on my vampire.

    If I do not have a night’s silence set equipped I am much slower than horses on my vampire.

    The stats and set bonuses for the Nightflame and the Night’s Silence sets should be swapped. Night’s Silence is the crafted set that ignores the movement speed penalty while sneaking, whereas Nightflame is the monster mask set that summons a healing totem.

    I think things have change with update 12.
    “The Shadow of the Red Mountain Set” is not on your list.
    End of October 2016 I picked, Boots of The Red Mountain when killing Gozzak, the boss in Mephala’s Nest in Stonfalls.

    Details at level 25:
    (2 items) Adds 118 Weapon Damage
    (3 items) Adds 888 Maximum Stamina
    (4 items) Adds 632 Weapon Critical
    (5 items) When you deal damage with a Weapon ability, you have a 10% chance to deal an additional 7363 Flame Damage. This effect can occur once every 2 seconds.

    Hi, I’m having great difficulty trying to find a single piece of the “overwhelming surge” set. I’ve read it drops in different places from different sites, I’ve just run Tempest Island vet and normal about 10 times in total and not had a drop, neither did my group, I’m baffled.

    So my question is, where does it drop please.

      It drops in tempest. I get tons of that gear every time I run it. I deconstruct all of it.

    I made a dark elf, dragonknight and want to use heavy armor, duel weapons more of a stamina based character. Right now for armor and weapons I have 5 piece kvatch set and 5 piece veiled heritance. I’m doing ok with eliminating enemies and going thru dungeons but was wondering what you would suggest for champion points or possible medium armor?

    This is and was the best site for item sets. It’s very well structured and organized. However, will you be updating it for these new Morrowind sets? If you need anything, is there anyway people can help add to this, if possible? Maybe, send the code with whatever the language is?

    Healing Mage bonuses are wrong. It’s a 5-piece set, not a 3-piece.

    Hello Admins. Is there a “chart” or “graph” that you all have that could display the differences between, say, blue and gold jewelry? I’m curious since I have my War Machine jewelry but do not yet have it in gold and I was wanting to know the resource difference ( and then the dps difference). Thanks!

    In general there are 2 types of sets in ESO: 3-piece sets and 5-piece sets. 5-piece sets usually have 2 levels of bonuses: for wearing 3 items and for wearing 5 items. That means if you put on 3 pieces you receive the first-tier bonus and if you wear the full set you get an extra bonus. Of course, if you wear only 2 items from the set you don’t get the bonus.

    Wow, there are a lot of sets ! I would like to try everyone in the list ! haha. Elder Scrolls Online is full of different items, both magical and conventional ones. Armor comes in a variety of unique looks with a system of 3 armor types which are light, medium and heavy. Light armor is recommended for magic users, medium armor is mostly worn by stamina users and heavy armor is the one with highest protective attributes fit for melee warriors. However there is no limit in armor you can wear, you can equip any weapon and armor of your choice. ESO Items avaliable at MMOAuctions called weapons comes in five categories which are bows, destruction staves, one-handed weapons, two-handed weapons and regeneration staves

    That’s one example. Any plans to bring this up to date? I appreciate this tool, it’s exactly what I was looking for and have found no where else. Thanks for creating it and I hope it can updated it ASAP.
