Gear and Item Set Info
I've tested quite a few armors for this, my best results were from Hunding's/Spriggan's, Hunding's/Morag Tong, Morag Tong/Ophidian Venom, Vicious Ophidian/Spriggan's with Velidreth, and VO with Morag Tong
My setup is virtually the same with Blademaster aside from not slotting Wrecking blow. Heavy attacks and the dots will keep your stamina up most of the time. For this setup I reccommend using either health/stamina regen food, health/stamina food, or for those who like max resources trifood health/mag/stam.
Warrior works the best but it is possible to run with serpent if you are constantly stacking dots and aoes.
P.S. I have not tested Valkyn Skoria with this setup but I will shortly, since you have multiple dots out it should proc quite a bit.
EDIT: Another alternative setup is Hunding's/VO/Kra'gh's. I have tested this setup personally and pulled 25k dps on a test dummy. Also; Using Flawless Dawnbreaker and Flames of Oblivion work just as well as the main setup I have posted.
General Info
With this build, you're doing the same thing as with my other builds, putting out damage and keeping yourself alive while doing so. For a bit of extra survivability Rally + Vigor, and have vigor on back bar in place of caltrops. I highly reccommend using 2h for any kind of stamina build whether it's dps or tank for the bonus stamina you get for heavy attacking which this build will need and the healing from rally.
Built correctly, I have roughly 3.9k weapon damage, 63% weapon critical, 36k stamina, 20k health, but 700 stamina regen. Since your main hits will be heavy attacks you don't need to rely on stamina regen as much.
Champion Point Tips
You're welcome to build your cp how you like, but if you're following my Blademaster setup, put a bit more into Thaumaturge and Piercing than you normally would by taking some out of Mighty in the Ritual branch.
For the sustainers out there:
BLUE:
- Thaumaturge - 55
- Piercing - 30
- Precise Strikes - 55
- Mighty - 50
- Master At Arms - 30
RED:
- Hardy - 58
- Elemental Defender - 58
- Thick Skinned - 15
- Medium Armor Focus - 30
- Quick Recovery - 60
GREEN:
- Tenacity - 100
- Mooncalf - 60
- Warlord - 30
- Tumbling - 20
For those using sustain instead of crit like my old blademaster build, just put your points into mighty, piercing, and thaumaturge. So for example: 75 Mighty, 65 Thaumaturge, 45 Piercing
Hunding’s/Spriggan’s got me up to 25-26k dps single target
Hunding’s/Morag – 24k
Morag/Venom – 22k (need to test more)
Vicious Ophidian with Spriggan’s got the same dps on multiple tests
VO/Morag – 23.5k
What is your current rotation? That’s where I issues. I can never seem to get the rotation down for other builds.
I buff using Rally and Molten Armaments, throw out my aoes after putting my bow dots on the boss, drop down standard, switch and heavy attack/trap, heavy attack/venomous claw, heavy attack a few times then reapply dots and aoes. When dawnbreaker comes up I pop it right away to regain any resources and continue heavy attacking. Usually I use a heavy attack then use dawnbreaker so it gets an empower. It takes a bit of practice but I got it rather fast since my rotation was already similar to that.
Sweet, thanks man. It’s working pretty good now. Crit is at 39% and im hittin almost 20k. Almost there.
No problem! Are you running the serpent stone?
Not currently. Should I switch over to the serpent stone? Im currently using 5 hundings with 5 spriggan and working on getting the Molag Kena set.
I would suggest using Warrior or Lover
Update: Just checked the setup with valkyn skoria and was pleased with the results. 23k dps parse on a test dummy.
AFTER HoR UPDATE:
I haven’t been on here in a while and thought I’d update the build a bit.
The CP is the same, but I changed over to the Lover Stone and made a Precise Maul to make up for penetration loss. Just pulled 25k single target on a world boss, with 52k dps total whereas my dual wield only got 38k total and 24.6k single using precise mace and infused dagger in junction with Valkyn Skoria. I have parsed up to 26k over 2 minutes with velidreth over skoria, just to throw that out there.
Nice build. Enjoying it.
I’m glad you like it, there is a variation of this build that I came up with that got me up to 30k dps over 2 minutes on the pts.
Hunding’s Rage, Twice Fanged Serpent, Master Greatsword/Battleaxe
Hiya mate, is there anything I can swap the bow out with?
Swap the bow? It might be possible to run dual wield as a back bar just to have dots and aoe.
