What Are Hard Caps

Hard Caps are simply caps on specific stats. Hard Caps existed before Update 6, along side Soft Caps, but have been mostly removed from ESO.

Armor and Spell Resistance still has a Hard Cap of 50% mitigation. This means that the maximum amount of mitigation that Armor / Spell Resistance will give you is 50%. Any additional Armor / Spell Resistance will do nothing. At the moment we estimate that 50% mitigation requires about 33,000 Armor / Spell Resistance.
