Gear and Item Set Info

I thought of this build because I wanted a viable dungeon healing build that didn't require SPC/Worm sets. This build is for people who want to be able to heal through most normal and vet dungeons, but who don't want to go the traditional SPC/Worm route.

The armor I use with this build is 5/5 Combat Physician and 5/5 Mother's Sorrow. It could easily work if you switched 5/5 Worm with either of those sets, depending on your needs, but I enjoy the insane crit chance and shield combo from the two of them. The spell crit boost from the two sets, plus the spell crit boost of thief mundus stone, pushes my spell crit chance to nearly 74%. That means every 6 seconds, my party members who are healed by me have a 74% chance to receive a 9,000 hp shield.

If you use Worm instead of Combat Physician, the high spell crit chance from Mother's Sorrow will still help with damage and healing, even without the shield.

General Info

The point of this build is to rely on insane spell crit chance to reduce the amount of actual healing you need to do. The spell crit chance also helps with clearing mobs and dealing single-target boss damage. Primarily using HoT spells to heal your team increases the chance that your party members will proc a shield from from the Combat Physician bonus. Each tic of a HoT spell has a chance to crit.

The rotation to keep up is Mutagen, Ritual of Retribution, Combat Prayer. Always maintain those three spells, and use Breath of Life/Illustrious Healing as backup heal spells. Doing this with potions and using heavy attacks inbetween should never be enough to reduce your magicka to 0. You can rely on your HoT spells to crit and reduce your need to use Illustrious Healing/Breath of Life, but they are available if your team starts to take heavy damage.

The other great thing about high crit chance is the increase in DPS. Inbetween heals, throw down a Blazing Spear at the nearest group of mobs. The DoT will have a chance to crit each time it ticks, and the initial damage is a decent AOE. During boss fights, Radiant Oppression is good because of its high single-target damage. The more magicka you have when using Radiant Oppression the better, but on top of crit damage it deals up to 330% extra damage to targets under 50% health. All of these attack spells will crit as frequently as the heals—74% of the time. This can make a big difference in your damage output, and also helps you rely less on expensive burst heals like Breath of Life.

I welcome any criticisms or suggestions to make this build even better! I'm still new to all of this.

Champion Point Tips

I'm only at cp170, so I can't speak about this with much experience. I focus on Elborn/Blessed, Bastion (if you use Combat Physician)/Quick Recovery, Arcanist/Tenacity.

Is there any specific gear to wear for this build? And is this build still good regarding recent or close upcoming patches to the game?

I just recently created the Argonian templar. I’ve got a altmer sorc and a nord tank as my first two characters. I wanted to try and perfect the character build technique before I tried to take on the healer role. Is there any one efficient way as to how I should go about creating this character from the ground up?

i just started using this build and i very much like got pulled into a harder normal dungeon with a few high level friends and had no problem keeping them healed. I also find use in the withered hand set with this build otherwise combat physician is amazing. Thanks for the build op.

Nice ! I had been running something like this but all the guides don’t have your idea. I have the Mothers Sorrow and part of the Combat Physician, definitely need to farm the last couple of pieces. The amount of damage I do at CP140 is great and it will be nice to proc those Crit heals when I complete the CP set. How did you make out at higher levels with this build ?

What would you suggest to use for monster set?

I have used this build without seeing this thread, great minds think alikr as they say =p .
In terms of monster sets I went with IceHeart as you proc it through crit, so gives you a nice extra shield and paired with puncturing sweeps you can have good solo survivability (although perhaps Mother Ciannait would be better).
