Gear and Item Set Info

This build goes with 7 pieces of light armor to get the most magicka recovery, spell cost reduction and spell critical as possible which all help with healing. This build could probably handle 2 pieces of heavy armor if your magicka management is good or you have a lot of potions and food. The light armor does make this build quite squishy so a good tank is really great!

As for Item Sets you can’t go wrong with Seducer (Magicka Regen, Max Magicka, Magicka Regen and 8% Spell Cost Reduction) and Warlock or perhaps Seducer and Willow’s Path for more spell critical. There are a few other options like Magnus’s Gift but Seducer is normally the best option and only requires 3 traits to craft. In the higher levels other sets like Aether and Arche Mage might make for good magicka management and healing intensity.

General Info

This build is a Templar – the typical healers of Tamriel – and comes with great healing and support potential. The first bar is all about heals, with Rapid Regeneration as a good heal over time and a combination of Illustrious Healing and Breath of Life doing the bulk of the work. Inner Light is on both bars for the Spell Critical, which is great for healing. If your healing is going well you could swap this out for another ability like Blazing Shield for damage mitigation or perhaps Repentance for a great magicka and stamina boost when there are corpses around.

The second bar is for when the damage isn’t coming in as fast and there is time to offer a bit of support to the tank and the damage. Blazing Spear is a great ability mainly for the synergy which grants a good deal of stamina to an ally. I find it is great to thrown this down on the tank of the group to use and replenish their valuable stamina pool. The damage over time is good too and if it hits a non-boss enemy they are stunned. Purifying Light is to aid in damage and also provide a bit of healing. The healing circle that it creates is normally too small to reach anyone except for the tank however. Purifying Light is simply there to aid in your healing and provide a good synergy so that your allies can cleanse themsevles. The tanks often like Purifying Light as it allows them to cleanse themselves of nasty healing debuffs and armor reductions.

Any food is good for this build but Health is quite important for any situation so you can’t go wrong there!

Champion Point Tips

Champion Points can be spent anywhere really but anything that increases magicka, spell critical, spell damage, healing done or magicka regen is pretty good. The Apprentice in The Mage constellation is good for these things!

Don’t forget your Health and damage mitigation too as these are very important in the higher levels.

What would you select for passives?

Pretty much all of the Class and Restoration Staff ones as you get a lot of Skill Points later in the game. At first I got Mending, Restoring Spirit and all of the Restoration Staff ones that I could as they are all really handy.

It is if you are in a group but otherwise I often find I get killed quite quickly with all Light Armor and not a lot of damage or defense skills…

Nice build. I decided to look up some Templar healer builds to compare them with mine and I happened to do it exactly the same. Only difference I use is Rune Focus to get a little extra Magic Recovery and Armor. Awesome build though! Never had so much fun being a healer in a game.

Love it I too use much the same I use Dampen Magic and Rune Focus to but myself. My theory is if I’m alive they are too.
I also use 5 of 5 Healers Habit and 5 of 5 Seducer.
