Gear and Item Set Info

The biggest goal of this build is not to be the best dps build, but to be a unique and fun alternative to the traditional dps builds out there. With that being said, we still want to bring good damage to the table in group content. This build utilizes multiple Frost damage abilites such as Force Pulse as your single target spammable, Frost Pulsar as a trash aoe spammable, and Unstable Wall of Frost and Winter's Revenge as your ground Frost aoe dots. This frost damage is balanced with some great magic damage skills that are just too good to pass up. These include Deep Fissure, Fetcher Infection, and Mystic Orb. This mix of Magic and Frost damage syngergizes perfectly with the Piercing Cold passive from the Winter's Embrace skill line giving you 10% increased magic and Frost damage.

Our monster helm is Iceheart. This helmet fits the Frost theme and provides great survivability in the form of a shield that procs of crit damage along with a small amount of aoe Frost damage around you.

For more serious content, including a skill that provides Minor Force (+10% crit damage) will help your dps a lot. Use Channeled Acceleration (Psijic) or Barbed Trap (Fighters Guild) to get this buff.

Skill Alternatives: 2 slots on the back bar - Soul Splitting Trap, Mystic Orb, Cliff Racer, Artic Blast, Light armor shield, Channeled Acceleration, Barbed Trap

Ultimates: Elemental Rage, Eternal Guardian, Northern Storm, Ice Comet

I chose Breton for my Race as I find it to be the best for a balance of sustain and damage on Magicka toons. But if you really want to commit to the theme you could try Nord or something else :)

I went with a standard magicka dps gear setup of False God and Mother's Sorrow. This will provide great damage in solo and group content and provide good sustain. I bought a Ice staff of Mother's Sorrow with the Precise trait for 3k gold at a guild trader. So, the gold investment of this build is also much lower than those including a MS inferno. You could also try out more unique sets such as Winterborn from Maelstrom arena.

If you dont have access to a Maelstrom Ice staff you can pick up another cheap MS Ice staff and run that on the back bar.

Enchants: I have a frost damage enchant on the front bar and a +Spell damage on the back bar.

Food: Solitude Salmon Fillet if you dont have issues with Sustain and Witchmother's Potent Brew if you need the extra Mag recovery.

Mundus: Shadow if you want to max your damage for group content. Or you could try Health, Mag, or Mag recovery, or Thief mundus.

VERY IMPORTANT: make sure not to put any points into the Tri Focus Destro passive skill line so you do not taunt bosses away from your tank in group content.
