General Info
This build is meant for group PvE. It is not a mid max dps build. This is just an outside-the-box, non-meta build for those looking for something different but fun to play. Question is, does it work? Absolutely. This build has monster poison DoTs and high burst. I haven't seen an all poison/disease build, tho I'm sure I'm not the only one to come up with this idea.
We all know by now what Velidreth and Viper does. While these sets can no longer crit, the burst damage is still fantastic and still reliable. Even Velidreth is still considered best in slot for stam builds in Maelstrom. I do not recommend Widowmaker for this build. It's very RNGish with proc chance and the poison procs just to activate the set have a longer cooldown than Viper. Viper is guaranteed to proc every 4 seconds when you do melee damage. When it comes to PvE dps, consistency is better.
Swamp Raider. When you do damage with a magic ability, your poison and disease abilities gain 450 weapon damage for 10 seconds. So, does this mean you need Flames of Oblivion or Spiked Armor to proc this set? The answer is no! In this game, enchants are read as magic damage. All you have to do is use Bloodthirst with your enchanted daggers and it will instantly proc this set. When it procs, everything you do poison/disease wise is basically empowered. It's stronger. By a lot! Even if you only have Swamp Raider's 5th piece bonus on your dual wield bar, the buff carries over to your bow bar. It essentially works the same way Clever Alchemist does if your familiar with that set.
I won't touch too much on skills. It's very preference based. Whatever makes you comfortable. You can get up to 3.9k weapon damage with Rearming Trap, Evil Hunter and Flawless Dawnbreaker slotted on your dual wield bar. I just like having igneous shield on front bar since I'm on that bar 95% of the time. It really helps your survival by incorporating it into your rotation. For stronger single target dps switch steel tornado out with blood craze. I went with healing morphs because a dps DK is very squishy. Plus, it really helps with your sustain since activating an earthen heart ability gives you back 5% of your stamina. Back bar ultimate is your choice. We're not running any penetration sets so Corrosive Armor skill can really rack up dps as it completely ignores resistances. Standard of Might get a slight nerf but it's still a huge buff for the DK. Finally, tanks generally use Pierce Armor which has Major Fracture. Noxious Breath isn't going to stack with it; however, it is another DoT that can be empowered by Swamp Raider. Plus, it's AoE. A tank will focus on priority targets. You can apply Major Fracture to entire mobs.
Champion Point Tips
CP 600 Spec
BLUE
100 mighty, 27 precise strikes, rest in Thaumaturge
*Precise Strikes is RNGish that only procs when you crit while Thaumaturge is damage you get all the time*
GREEN
100 Warlord, 74 Mooncalf, 1 Tenacity, rest in Tumbling
*Anymore into Mooncalf is seriously not worth it. 100 cp points into it would only be around a 40-50ish recovery gain from 74 cp points*
RED
89 Hardy, 89 Elemental Defender, 11 Thick Skinned, 1 Expert Defender, 10 Quick recovery
