Gear and Item Set Info

The idea behind the set is to have plenty of armor, but with the majority of the items giving you max Magicka, reduced Magicka costs, and increased Magicka regeneration. Have one or two pieces of light armor, I am able to get a bit extra Magicka regen and max Magicka. Since I hardly use Stamina, I don't much care for medium armor. The rest should be Heavy Armor, so you can take a bit of a beating.

General Info

The idea here is survivability. Using sword and shield in the first weapon slot, I rely a lot on blocking. Blazing Shield is one of my mainly used abilities. Not only does it shield me from damage, but at the end, it pops, dealing damage to enemies. I use this in rotation with Purifying Light. First BS, then PL. This is the main rotation, which is the main reason I go heavily on Magicka. If you can keep using these two abilities, especially BS, then you can outlive many bosses and large groups of enemies.

Throughout my playing, I noticed that just this alone wasn't enough though. I wasn't producing enough damage. I added on the 2H build to my second weapon slot, and through this, I use a bit more Stamina, especially with Rally and Reverse Slice.

A few of the abilities above give buffs/heals, like Repentance, Puncturing Sweep, and Purifying Light.

This may not bring down enemies the quickest, but you'll sure stand on your own 2 feet for pretty much all situations.

I have a build very similar to this Just found this one and checking to see what you have done. I just hit VR1 The survivability is AMAZING I use Heavy Magica regen with the Antrioch and Champion points and the use of beverages prefer two stat stamina and Magica regen. Two handed I use that Bar for solo DPS while tanking its more of my buff bar. I use Rally for the HOT and Critical rush to close in on the mobs or after a dodge roll to avoid a boss AOE to get back fast and tank away. While tanking I use pierce armor to taunt and spam puncturing sweeps for the self-heal also the aoe does great for trash mobs. And a few other differences on the bars but mostly the same concept on armor i do use 5 heavy 1 light 1 medium for the stamina and Magica regen bonuses also the undaunted passives to be at the full 6% bonus. I am excited to get this guy to VR16 it has been a lot of fun and with this build you just do not die solo or groups. and also has potential for group utility for off healing when needed

I’ve built my character like Nuclear Nachos suggests here.

The only difference is I am a Breton and I use all heavy armor. I do not know how he got 22k health,
25k magicka and 16k stamina. I distributed my 49 stat points like so 20 magicka, 20 health and 9 stamina
and I only have 11k for each magicka and health and 5k’ish stamina. I learned all of the passives for
Aedric Spear and Heavy Armor, and I have almost learned all Breton passives for max magicka,
magicka resistance (and whatever that 3rd skill is). I have mostly green, blue, gear, and 1 purple gear.

I enchant all of my armor with max magicka enchants.
I enchant my rings and necklace with decrease magicka cost enchants.
But usually I find jewelry loot that does both decrease magicka cost and increase max magicka.

I really only started to enjoy this build after I earned all of the suggested
skill morphs. I can kill most mobs pretty quickly after draining my magicka by half, most bosses/named npc bosses
require the whole magicka bar some mobs require input from my stamina. Which with the two hand skill morphs
only last for like 3 – 4 casts.

I don’t really feel like I am a good tank I last for a little while but it is still very easy to die, especially when ganked by 5
or more mobs, especially if I’m just running through an area trying to avoid battles. I also felt like Healing Ritual is in
many ways far superior than relying on a heal from Sun Shield, Purifying Light heals but only at the end when you
kill a mob, and it is very quick, plus you have to cast it on each mob, but that heal does add up but its usually
impractical and hard to stack up. There is also Repentance’s heal which can be used in combination with Purifying light for a good
heal since you need a corpse but that strength is its weakness you need a corpse, and it drains all corpses in the area. So in instances
where you’ve killed the boss’s minions and already used Repentance your out of luck, and most corpses dissolve very quickly after a
battle especially in Coldharbor when enemies vaporize. At the point you either need a potion or a lot of magicka because
puncturing sweep drains magicka very fast, and potions take too long to be usable again. I block but it seems like you
may need block active at all times.

I do like the sword and shield setup it is very nice and useful. I usually use Blazing Spear to stun an enemy and aoe,
because you can pick where you strike, I use explosive charge after to close in on the enemies and do more aoe, and
then once I am close I spam ransack which can destroy weaker mobs but is not so good against stuff around your level.

On the 2-hand bar puncturing sweep I usually spam for the heals and attacking enemies too close
for comfort, reverse slice is good for AOE as well but it is hard on your stamina however, rally is far
more devastating to your stamina it will be gone in 2 clicks on average, but the heal it provides has
saved my butt a couple of times, don’t know how you extend its duration. I already touched on
repentance, I don’t think it is so good, solar barrage helps but it doesn’t seem particularly strong
though there are some enemies that it literally devastates in 1 – 2 casts and you can get a good bit of casts out.

I just recently achieved Veteran 1. With that came the Champion stat/skill/perk system and there is absolutely no
information here by nuclearnahcos regarding how to continue developing the character afterwards.

I have not tried this build in PVP yet I feel like I will not last long. However I have done many
group dungeons and It seems very good there but if you have another Templar that uses repentance
you are screwed my friend. Again if there is no corpse Repentance is not helpful.

I would love to see nuclearnachos expand this with champion building.

All in all this isn’t a bad build but it may not be what you are expecting. The healing
skills nachos suggest do not seem to be affected by restoring aura passives so make sure
you don’t waste your skill points on those, unless you use the skills it specifically says
in the skill description I don’t think restoring aura passives will be granted bonuses.

However, this build is way more enjoyable closer to level 50/vet especially if your skills
are near 50 as well and if you use the one-handed bar you will have fun but I was disappointed
with how 2 handed performs which sucks because normally I go sword and shield and I was trying
to be different with a 2 hand build.
