With the Dark Brotherhood update on May 31 (PC/Mac) and June 14 (XBox One/PS4) the Veteran Rank system will be removed. This has been a long time coming as evidenced by previous articles like VR16 – Some Context and What is Going On With Veteran Ranks.

The Veteran Rank system is basically being replaced with the Champion System.

ZOS has released a first-look video and new information about what to expect of the next DLC and patch – the Dark Brotherhood.

This month, April 2016, marks two years since Elder Scrolls Online was launched on PC/Mac. ESO was released on April 4 2014, although people who pre-ordered were playing a few days before that.

So much has changed in the two years since those days. Craglorn, Imperial City and the Thieves Guild have been added, numerous bugs were fixed and the subscription model was changed to a buy-to-play model with an optional subscription called ESO Plus. Some details about some key aspects of ESO changing in Update 9 (Thieves Guild) on March 7 (PC/Mac) and March 22/23.

There has been lots of news so far in February because of the release of Update 9 (Thieves Guild DLC) to the Public Test Server. There has also been some other information hidden in the forums or spoken about on ESO Live. This is a round-up of that information, including some lesser known (or talked about) changes coming soon to ESO.

Take a look at all of the Skill Lines changing when the Thieves Guild DLC arrives on ESO! This includes changes to Class Skills and Weapon Skills.

These are the patch notes for Update 9 (Thieves Guild DLC) on the Public Test Server (PTS). The PTS is only available to PC/Mac users and is designed to test content before release. The PTS patch notes give us valuable information about the changes coming to the live servers later this month.

With all of the talk about the Thieves Guild DLC coming up some of the important base game improvements and additions may not have been noticed. Update 9 is coming in the same patch as the Thieves Guild and will apply to all players even if you don’t buy the Thieves Guild DLC. There are lots of changes in there!
