Update 7 is on track to be a huge update to Elder Scrolls Online including the new Imperial City DLC zone. We won’t have official patch notes until it goes to the Public Test Server so in the meantime this page will keep track of all information regarding Update 7 sourced from the developers on the forums, Reddit, ESO Live and even some data mining of ESO itself.

We can’t be absolutely 100% certain of these changes until they are released to ESO itself, as the developers will be testing them internally and on the PTS which may result in some changes. This page will be kept up to date with those changes once we know of them.

ESO News

So by now most will know that ZOS plans to increase the level cap to Veteran Rank 16 with Update 7. This planned change has caught a lot of players by surprise given the hints earlier in the year (and even in 2014) that Veteran Ranks would be removed entirely and replaced with a different system.

I have collected some of the community response to this decision, both positive and negative, along with some context information to understand the situation a little better. I haven’t included everything there is to know about Veteran Ranks and I may have even forgotten something. You can comment below if you notice something I have missed.

ESO Live Episode 21 featured Eric Wrobel, the Lead Combat Designer at ZOS. He gave a bit of a preview to some of the combat changes which are coming in the next major update.

The next patch is 2.0.13 and will be rolled out next week. This patch includes minor bug fixes and tweaks. So far there is no exact date for Update 7 which includes the changes listed below.

More news is expected on July 13 which will include news about the Imperial City.

On June 29 patch 2.0.13 was applied to Elder Scrolls Online. This patch fixed numerous bugs, improved audio and introduced scaled consumables.

This change allows for consumables like potions to scale to your battle level (the increased stats you get in Cyrodiil) and be more effective in PVP.

ESO News

On the Official Forums Brian Wheeler, the lead PVP developer for ESO, gave an update on some future changes which might be implemented in order to further balance and change PVP.

The big news is basically the planned removal of the Emperor Skill Line after you are deposed as Emperor, the removal of the ability to Travel To Player in Cyrodiil, the removal of PVP buffs being applied in PVE, the strengthening of the Elder Scroll Gates, the introduction of Battle Level for Veteran Rank characters and changes to Campaign assignment.

The latest patch, 2.0.11, is an incremental patch to address a few bugs and also launch the new Experience Booster to ESO.

ESO News

It was only a short segment during the Bethesda E3 event for Elder Scrolls Online confirming the release this year of Imperial City, Orsinium and perhaps the Dark Brotherhood.

The Imperial City is expected to be a kind of hybrid PVP and PVE area in the center of Cyrodiil with several different sections for different activities.

Orsinium was also shown and will likely be an entire new zone and possibly the first DLC zone to be released for ESO.

ESO News

Yay! The long awaited launch of Elder Scrolls Online for consoles is here at last! The servers are going to be flooded at first but after a couple of hours it should calm down and become much more stable.
